Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 November 2025

This Privacy Policy explains how SnapReport handles information when you use the SnapReport application (“the App”).

Overview

SnapReport is designed as a local-first tool. The App stores your job data directly on your device and does not maintain a central cloud database of your jobs, clients, photos, or voice notes. You remain in control of your data at all times. This Policy describes what data the App works with, how it is stored, and what limited information may be processed outside your device.

Data stored locally on your device

The App stores the following categories of data locally on your device:

Job data

  • Job titles and descriptions
  • Site addresses and contact details
  • Status, dates, and scheduling information
  • Issues, notes, and recommended actions
  • Quote line items and pricing information

Client and company data

  • Client names and contact details
  • Company name, address, and branding details (e.g. logo)

Media

  • Photos attached to jobs and their captions
  • Voice notes recorded for jobs

Report settings

  • Report templates (section order, titles, intro text, disclaimer)
  • Presets for issues and quote line items

App settings

  • Trial usage counts (number of reports created)
  • Licence key and licence status

All of the above are stored locally using browser or WebView storage (for example, IndexedDB or equivalent on your device). The App does not automatically upload this content to any external server.

Backups

The App allows you to export a backup file that contains your SnapReport data (jobs, clients, settings, presets, licence state). This backup file is saved to a location you choose (for example, your device’s file system, a cloud storage folder, or removable media).

Because you control where the backup is stored, you are responsible for the security of that backup file. If you store the backup in a third-party service (for example, Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, email), it will be subject to that service’s own terms and privacy practices.

The developer of SnapReport does not automatically receive or store copies of your backup files.

Camera, photos, and microphone

The App may request access to:

  • Camera or photo library: To allow you to capture or attach photos for inclusion in job reports.
  • Microphone: To allow you to record short voice notes associated with a job.

These permissions are only used for the purposes described above. Photos and voice notes are stored as part of your local SnapReport data on your device and are included when you export a backup file.

The App does not perform facial recognition, biometric analysis, or any AI processing on your photos or voice notes.

Network and analytics

The App is designed to operate fully offline for normal use. It may make limited network requests, for example:

  • To check for software updates (depending on how you install the app).
  • To verify licence keys or communicate with the platform store (e.g. app store) in a future version.

The App does not send your job content (jobs, clients, photos, voice notes, or report text) to a central server for storage or analytics.

If any anonymised usage or error reporting is added in the future, it will be documented and kept to the minimum necessary to maintain or improve the App.

Payments and licence information

If you purchase a licence for SnapReport through a third-party payment provider or app store (for example, Stripe, Gumroad, Google Play, Microsoft Store, Apple App Store), that provider will process your payment and may store your email address, transaction details, or other information required to complete the purchase.

The developer of SnapReport may have access to your contact and licence information through that provider for the purpose of issuing or validating licence keys and communicating about your licence where necessary. The developer does not receive your full payment card details; those remain with the payment provider.

Children’s data

SnapReport is intended for use by adults in a professional or business context. It is not designed for children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data loss and responsibility

Because SnapReport stores your data locally on your device and does not maintain a central copy, loss of your device or its storage may result in permanent loss of your SnapReport data.

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining regular backups using the App’s export function
  • Storing backup files in safe and appropriate locations

The developer is not responsible for data loss resulting from device failure, user error, or failure to maintain adequate backups.

Changes to this Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time, for example when features change or to reflect legal requirements. The “Last updated” date at the top will be revised when changes are made. If you continue to use the App after updates are published, you are deemed to accept the updated Policy.

Contact

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how your data is handled in SnapReport, contact the developer using the contact details provided on the SnapReport site or within the App.
